Manchester City Council's Petitions Scheme

We, the undersigned, petition the Council to Stop cutting grass verges to let wild flowers grow for bees and butterflies.

More details from petitioner:

There is now indisputable evidence that if Councils only cut their grass verges once a year, at the correct time, the population of bees, butterflies and small mammals increases.  Councils need to save money and not cutting grass verges saves money and wildlife.  Cutting grass verges serves no purpose other than to have a 'tidy' area in which no wildlife can live.
